The Elders of Mt. Pisgah Lutheran Church serve as extensions of the Pastoral Office. They publicly present themselves as examples of faithful Christian life as one who is redeemed and given new life through Christ our Lord. As such, they are tasked to assist the pastor in the spiritual care and welfare of the congregation. In addition to overseeing that our worship is orderly and assisting the pastor during the service, the Elders also are given the responsibility of caring for our sick and shut-ins, reaching out to delinquent members, pray for and be concerned for the pastor and his family's welfare, and bring any needs of the families assisted to them to the attention of the pastor and church leadership.
